At May 2008 Finland's National Bureau of Investigation started project which target is Finnish investors wives and girlfriends property in Thailand. Finland's NBI visited at least once in Thailand and is making proposals for co-operation with Thailand's special police DSI.
There was some action during that first visit and DSI filed some police reports from Finnish tourists after interrogations. Those Finnish people who are familiar with Thai culture know very well that money have very high status in Thailand. They are speculating that how much money Finland offered to Thai police for this first procedure where about 20 DSI officers from Bangkok went to Pattaya for that interrogations event and also made several attempts to trace those tourists who were on the list of NBI.
Besides of reputation of Thai traffic police now tourists keep faith that DSI will remain as unbribable unit of Thai police. Finland's police know that estimated profits of Thai ladies are about few million Euros and it is big money in the relative poor country. Tourism is huge income source to Thailand and we hope that they keep protecting their reputation as one of the most pleasant destination for European tourists.
At the moment it is possible but very unlikely that NBI and DSI start hunting Thai citizen’s property because of hunger of money of Finland's corrupted police force. There are some incidents in history where property of sentenced criminals from foreign country remains untouchable in Thailand. Now there are no criminals, only ordinary people who have invested money and many of them got some profits before that sad day 7th of March 2008 when WinCapita's website disappeared.
At 13th of March Newspapers are writing in Finland that NBI's further attempts to get help from DSI have been fruitless so far.
